Virginia : Tourist Attractions

Virginia is steeped in history with various museums, historic churches, buildings and historic homes telling their own stories. Some of the notable tourist attractions in Virginia are:

  • Arlington National Cemetery - Arlington Arlington National Cemetery provides an opportunity to walk among headstones that chronicle American history and an occasion to remember and honor the nation's war heroes.

  • Old Town Alexandria - Alexandria With more than 250 years of history and hospitality to its credit, Alexandria displays a variety of historic and cultural attractions.

  • Mount Vernon - Mount Vernon Mount Vernon is not only George Washington’s home but an 18thcentury building filled with treasures many of them owned by Washington.

  • Shenandoah National Park It is a beautiful place that can bring peace to the spirit.

  • Luray Caverns - Luray From black bear resting beneath rock overhangs, to tiny aquatic insects darting through cool mountain streams, thousands of creatures have made Luray Caverns their homes in the park.

  • Great Falls Park Great Falls Park is part of the George Washington Memorial Parkway. It is an 800 acre park located along the Potomac River 14 miles upriver from Washington D.C.
