Virginia : Administration

Virginia is ranked 12th among the 50 states of U.S. Virginia is located on Atlantic Coast of Southern United States. Virginia was admitted to the U.S union in 1788 as 10th state. The constitution of Virginia provides three branches of government: executive, legislative and judicial. Virginia has a bicameral legislature, which comprises of 40-members in Senator and 100-members in House of Representatives. Leader of House and Senate are chosen by the members of the body. The Senators and the House of Representatives are both elected for two-year term. The governor and lieutenant governor of Virginia serve a four year term. The state police of Virginia are the largest law enforcement agency in Virginia. The highest authority in Virginia is of Virginia Supreme Judicial Court as per the judiciary authority and other lower courts like Virginia Court of Appeals and circuit courts are for the general districts.
